This is me.. an open book.

My name is Kaeli Haines and I’m a self taught genealogist.

I started how every other genealogist did, by researching their own families.

I come from a broken home; my parents split when I was only young. I travelled interstate with my mum, who went on to have other children. Im now one of 10!!

When I was 9 I was given the opportunity to move in with my father full time.

I made the flight accross Australia all by myself and I started to ask questions not long after.

  • Where was our family from?
  • Who are your grandparents?
  • Where in England is Pops Family from?

I spent most of my school holidays at my Nannas were we trawled through photo albums and talked about my ancestors and where they grew up. We visited my Great Aunts on occasion where I would spend hours scanning documents and photos.

I realized I didn’t know much about my Mums side, and during my teen years I really felt I needed to find her.

When I was 15, I got on the internet and did some searches. I found her, and I found I had 2 new siblings also! Lots of happy tears were shed.

We organised a Family Renunion and I got to ask all the questions.

Once I learned more about documentation, I was able to put all my notes together, my family tree grew and grew, many many hours were put into to form my family Tree.

Once my children were born my love for all the family stories grew, I want to make sure my children know who their ancestors are so they can understand their own story completely!

I am very passionate about keeping the stories real and alive

Check out my socials to learn from me and hear my opinion on an aray of different topics, which are in someway related. 😉
