Here I can search for your ancestor’s records as well as see if any other children were registered to them that you may not already know of. I found out my Husbands great grandmother had an illegitimate child who passed away before any other children were born. The family never knew of this until I found this information.
In a few of the other vital record collections I have access too, I can find indexes that link to images of actual records. Viewing the actual record is beneficial as it often contains details not included in the index. I can provide copies of these. If I find your ancestor in an index, I may even be able to request a copy of the actual document.
These records include information like the event date and place, parents’ names, occupation and residence. The cause of death is also included in most death records; these are a cornerstone of family history research because they were created at or near the time of the event, making the record more likely to be accurate.
